It's Monday and I don't really have much to provide an update on. Baby Kara is still not here but we're anxiously waiting. We went and saw Baby Mama (http://www.babymamamovie.net/) on Sunday afternoon which was pretty funny...a good day for a movie since it was rainy and nasty here.
Kathy hasn't been sleeping very well lately and is generally pretty miserable and uncomfortable. The baby likes to do a *lot* of kicking which causes a lot of rib pain for Kathy. If it weren't for the prize at the end, there's no way she'd go through this again!! It's a good thing her last day of work is this Friday.....that's one goal to look forward to this week!
We go to the doctor again on Thursday I believe so I'll share the doctor's news when we get it.

Surprise!
So not much has been happening lately and you've probably notice there haven't been any updates....but something did happen!
OK, so this isn't our baby but I had you fooled for a minute, didn't I! Our good friends from church Jason and Sarah had their baby girl on Monday, Ava Railey, and she was really cute. We stopped by the hospital last night to see her and congratulate the proud parents. This only made us want to see what our Kara looks like even more....We're ready for her to be here!!
Before all semblance of life is over, Kathy and I did make it out to dinner last night at one of her favorite places, Z-Tejas. She got her favorite chicken artichoke stack and we had some desert...it was a nice evening out.
Other news, we go to the doctor in about 45 min and get a new sonogram of Kara. This will be the first time we've seen her since right before Christmas, so we're excited to see how big she is and kind of what she looks like (it's always hard to tell in those things). Look for another update later today to see her new baby pics.....
Update:
I just got home from the doctor's with Kathy and things are about the same as they were last week. They did do the sonogram and I was hoping we'd get a picture but Kara was hiding her face and we never really got to see her very well. Her head is down though, where it's suppose to be, and everything looks pretty good. We know for sure now that she is a *she*....good thing otherwise we would have had a cross dressing baby with all that pink in her closet! :-).
Kathy is less than 1cm dilated and about 50% effaced (that's cervix talk for you guys) so she's still not ready to come out yet. This was about the same as the report from last week, so we're just holding steady for now. The next doctor's appoint is next Thursday so we'll see if things are any further along then.

Life is already changing
This is going to be a short one mainly because I want to keep blogging and not fall off the wagon right at the beginning of the trip.
In anticipation of baby Kara, I've recently made a change that all the family will probably be happy about....I put my motorcycle up for sale on Craig's list yesterday. And let me tell you, it was a whirlwind day. I posted it around midnight and within 8 hours, I had 3 phone calls and an email about it and the phone just kept ringing off the hook all day. So, needless to say, the bike is pretty much gone...I've got a deposit and somebody is picking it up Sunday. It's a sad day for me because I really do enjoy riding, but at the same time I know I've got greater responsibilities now and my family needs me for the long haul so I can't afford to get hurt on a motorcycle. Goodbye bike...hopefully we'll ride again some day.

The countdown is about to begin
Baby KaraShe's much bigger now than in this picture (this was at about 20 weeks and we're in week 35 now), and we'll hopefully have a new picture in 2 weeks when they check for her position in mom's belly.
In the mean time, here's a few pictures of "Mommie" at her recent baby shower this past weekend. Thanks to all who were able to attend, it really meant a lot to us to have everyone there.
Oh, and we're still accepting gifts if you couldn't make it! :-)

Donna, Rita, Kathy, Sunny, and the girls

Kathy, Amy, and Alyson...thanks for coming Amyho!!

I don't think this is going to fit Kathy
but she's still excited
And before I go, I know some of you won't get to visit for awhile but have asked about the baby's room, so here are a few shots. Still a few things to tidy up, but we're almost there!
